Welcome to day two of Mistletoe Make & Bake 2010! We're all back. . . with more goodies to share!
Today - the subject is 'holiday sanity savers'. . . & for me the biggest one is this. . .
. . . it's the shopping crowds. . . I avoid them. . . like the plague.
I don't mean so sound like Scrooge - but at times like the weekend after Thanksgiving - or the days just before Christmas. . . the last place you will find me is at the mall. I do like to see all the decorations that the stores display. . . but I always pick the least busy time I can think of to see them. I'd much rather be home decorating or making something for gifts. . . or baking(!)
Speaking of baking. . . here's today's recipe. . . Buttery Pecan Cookies!
Another classic. . . this time with pecans. Buttery, golden, crispy yummy-ness!

ReplyDeleteI'm in a wheelchair, and shopping can be difficult in the best of times. From mid-November to mid-January I do no shopping at all.
ReplyDeleteSlice and bake cookies are great. I can make the dough ahead of time and bake them when needed, Most of them can be frozen for even later use. Thank you.

ReplyDeleteYou are so right. Oatmeal and Chocolate, my favorites, they're the best. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWe usually go mall shopping once during the Christmas season - usually before Thanksgiving. Cannot stand crowds! The recipe sounds great - we just finished shelling out our meager one tree crop of pecans. About 4 gallons unshelled.
ReplyDeleteBren - What darling ornaments! And, your recipes all sound wonderful! I've copied them all & will enhance my holiday cookies plates with some new ones this year.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing your creativity with us!

Your cookie recipe sounds good. I'm having a lot of fun with this blog hop. A sanity saver for me is to get all of my shopping done before everyone else.
ReplyDeleteWonderful cookies
ReplyDeleteI avoid malls on the weekend too. A quiet weeknight, just after work is best for me. Also, I pick up gifts all year long when I see something, especially when it's on sale.
ReplyDeleteI am not a mall fan and rarely go to one!
ReplyDeletethis recipe is new to me. I will try it for the holidays. thank you. Judy S.
