Today were celebrating!
. . . Celebrating all the fun little frivolous things that are a part of our lives.
Have you ever thought about the small things that you like to do or surround yourself with ... just because they make you happy?
The wonderful, creative folks at Moda did that for all of us this past year with those sweet Frivols kits in those adorable Frivols tins! I was honored that my Windermere line was featured in the #4 'Frivols
tin... with a wonderful quilt designed by Moda's own Carrie Nelson called 'Lakeland'.
So, as the year of Frivols is quickly coming to an end... we are wondering... what are the fun little frivolous things that we do... ??? For me it's this...
Every two weeks or so, I find myself drawn to a local flower stand & can't help but bring home a bunch of pretty flowers. They just make me smile every time I walk by them. They are the little frivolous thing I've been doing... just because!
So... is there something that you have found that you are doing that is a little frivolous?
Share it in the comments below & you will be entered to win my Frivols tin!
Hope you have a wonderfully frivolous day!
♥ Bren

ReplyDeleteEvery now and then, I buy specialty coffee for my home. Bring the fresh beans home and grind them, just because I love the aroma. The coffee is good too, but there is just something special about the s elk of freshly ground beans. Frivolous, yes- but if you don't stop to smell the coffee beans (or the roses if you prefer!), life is just a little glum!
ReplyDeleteIt might be frivolous but I am making two baby quilts for my granddaughter due to arrive any day. It's my only daughter and this will probably be the last grandchild - a wonderful granddaughter. Time to be frivolous!

At this time of year especially when it feels as if things should be turning green but instead everything is brown, brown, brown, flowers are my indulgence. Love you fabric line and would be very happy to have a chance to win your frivol!

ReplyDeleteFrivolous for me is buying charm packs or mini charms with absolutely no plan : )
ReplyDeleteI bought Frivol tin #4 w the Lakeland quilt you designed & Windemere fabrics. I've bought my background, backing & trim fabrics too so I'm ready to get started. Quick question about the pressing directions. When constructing the flying geese (section 1) the directions are to press seams toward the "background fabric" which is a light/white fabric per the design. Is that correct? Don't we usually press seams toward the dark fabric? (Which would be toward the Windermere fabrics in the tin.) Thanks for your answer before I begin sewing.
ReplyDeleteThis response is for Toby.... hi Toby, actually Carrie Nelson designed all of the cute quilts for the Frivol tins... & so I would assume that she probably has the pressing instructions that way so that there is not too much bulk then the flying geese are all sewn together. You are right, that usually we do try to press to the darker fabric when able, but sometimes, the pressing works out better when things are pressed to a lighter side. Hope you have fun making your Frivol quilt! xo, Bren
