… Quiltaid. . .

. . . helping the world, one quilt at a time.

Over the years, I have been asked to participate in several programs where I designed a block for a quilt - along with other designers. It is always a compliment, but this time, I must admit - I am even more excited as this program , QuiltAid USA supports a wonderful program.

Funds raised from QuiltAid USA 2010 will be donated to the Addis Ababa Fistula Hospital in Ethiopia through the Hamlin Fistula Relief and Aid Fund Australia and  The Fistula Foundation USA.

I became aware of Quilt Aid last year, when it was all Australian designers . . . & I loved the idea, so I was so very happy when Helen Stubbings (Hugs 'n Kisses) of Pattern Press, in Australia contacted me last spring about participating in the first Quilt Aid USA.

The theme for all of the blocks is,

The way the program works is that there are six online quilt shops where you can purchase blocks designed by twelve designers (six Australian designers, & six American designers), & each shop will also have a setting design they have designed that you can also purchase for your blocks.

The best part is that each time you purchase a block / kit, you are supporting such a great foundation - doing such wonderful work. . . Such a win - win prospect!

Special thanks to Moda fabrics, & Presencia Threads for their participation. . . & of course to Pattern Press for overseeing it all!

The designers participating in Quilt Aid USA are:

Helen Stubbings, Lynette Anderson, Sue Daley, Natalie Lymer of Cinderberry Stitches, Bronwyn Hayes of Red Brolly and Anni Downs of Hatched and Patched of Australia and Anne Sutton of Bunnyhill, Brenda Riddle of Acorn Quilt & Gift Company, Robyn Pandolph, Terri Degenkolb of Whimsicals, Kathy Schmitz and Barri-Sue Gaudet of Bareroots of the USA.
. . . &  the shops participating are:
Shabby Fabrics, The Fat Quarter Shop, Quilting by the Bay,  Material Girls, Homestead Hearth, & Cabbage Rose.

(. . . you can find all the links to all the designers & shops on the Quilt Aid USA website.)

You can click on the link about for Quilt Aid USA to see all the great blocks & setting designs available

Thanks to Helen & to all participating in Quilt Aid USA. I love that quilting & our love for quilting can once again benefit so many, in so many ways!

. . . don't 'cha just love quilting & stitching?!?!
